Re: Front forks on Puch 175sv

Tom... The front fender is attached by 4 bolts - two on emanating from each side of the fork leg, passing through a longish "ear" extending down from the fender - the "ear" runs parallel to the downtubes. One of the bolts on each side also accepts the fender stay that runs fore/aft. I have pictures,...

I forgot to add - I have a bit of experience with Hardtails. I'd be glad to advise/help in anyway I can.
Good Luck!

Re: 1961 125 Hardtail barn find

Donn - be advised the body parts/shrouds are absolutely the toughest parts to find. The engine parts are all mostly still available from Austrian suppliers. What it's all worth, depends on what you want to end up with. If the engine turns freely, you have a fair chance of getting it to run. You're a...

Re: Flywheel removal when it won't budge.

Well - I got it off. I sawed off the flywheel puller...got myself a new puller - and replaced the bolt with a shorter, stronger one (the supplied bolt is too long, and can twist/break). And, "click". The flywheel popped off.

Re: Flywheel removal when it won't budge.

The cooling fan is held onto the magneto/flywheel by 3 bolts. Those and the fan came off easily. The "fan" looks like a ring with cooling fins. And, yep - it's a scooter engine, originally. I haven't been back at separating the now-busted flywheel removal tool from the flywheel - but I'll get there....

Flywheel removal when it won't budge.

I'm trying to remove the flywheel from my 150 HT, so I can clean things up underneath and install new points and a condenser. It looks like someone was in there before me - and put a whole lotta torque on the nut, really jamming the flywheel onto the crank. I've been able to get the nut/washers off....

Re: I Got It Running, BUT...

I don't know exactly what your problem might be, BUT...yeah, you need to make sure the points are adjusted correctly. I just went through this, on my 125 Hardtail - maybe the points adjust in exactly the same manner. So. There's one large slotted-head bolt that holds the points in place. There's ano...

Re: Stringing The Carb Slide

Welcome to the carb slide nightmare...there MUST be an easy way. I just don't know it. What I do...using a pair of locking clamps (forceps - like a hemostat) that I got at Harbor Freight for about $4...is: compress that spring down into the carb top as much as you can (which isn't near enough) - the...
