Hi Ramwing, greetings from England! You have answered your problem yourself!! The kick starter engages the ratchet on the back of the clutch drum which has the primary chain sprocket attached so it must turn the engine , so as you say the motor turns over if the clutch is withdrawn or not! but if yo...

Hi there,I have a spares book from 1961 from a German large spares dealer in Bremen your rear light is shown as type SRBK 11 which is Hella and is the light for a NSU Prima V being sold for 11,10 DM.Not sure if the NSU Prima V was sold in U S A, if so! that's where your light has probably come from....

getting pistons in to barrels

Hi there, through past experience of getting your 2 pistons into the Puch barrels is a precarious one,lots of weight especialy with the SGS barrels and with brittle rings ,broken ones are often the result :oops: I have just restored my 175SV motor and thought i would show a failproof way of doing it...

Hi! Mach III, Thats very interesting to know, I wonder if some disgruntled or numbty! worker at the Puch factory performed such things??? My motor had all the original Austrian bearings in place! shame there is not a Austrian Puch forum to see if we are alone or others know about it! watch this space

Oh what a shame! great looking bike! but afraid to say the seals become brittle with age, and when exposed to modern day unleaded fuel! getting a sixtie year old bike to run as you like it is full of highs and lots of lows! keep at it !
